cahts

The office space for remote teams.

Everyone's at their desk, a click away. Tap a shoulder and you're talking.

Private beta. Teams of 2 to 50.

Remote work can feel like an island.

You've got Slack for chat and Zoom for meetings. Linear, Notion, Basecamp, whatever runs your work. They're good. They do the job.

But here's the thing: none of them feel like sitting next to someone. And more of the day goes to talking with AI agents. Helpful, sure. Not exactly company.

Cahoots doesn't replace any of your tools. It's the room you're all sitting in while you use them.

Zoom is for meetings. Slack is for chat. Cahoots is for being around.

The tap on the shoulder.A break from the AI agent chatter.Five minutes with an actual human. The inside joke on a sticky note. That's the stuff remote teams miss.

A day at the office.

Morning

Glance

Everyone shows up as a black-and-white still that refreshes every few seconds. You can tell who's around, who's heads down, and who's already talking.

Hoot

Little hellos for the whole room. A sun for good morning, pizza at lunch, a rocket that bounces around everyone's screen for no good reason.

Late morning

Tap a shoulder

Hover a teammate, click Tap, and you're talking. No ringing, no link, no "got a sec?" first. Anyone can wander over and join.

Afternoon

Close the door

Heads down? Go Busy and your still blurs. Lock a call and people knock instead of walking in.

Leave a note

Someone's away from their desk? Stick a post-it on it. An inside joke, a sticker, a "ping me when you're back." It's waiting when they sit down.

End of day

Like an office. When you leave, you leave.

Your still is black and white and softly blurred, color only in a call, heavily blurred when you're busy. It's gone in 90 seconds and never saved. The only thing that sticks around is your desk: your name, your avatar, and the notes people leave you.

  • No recordings
  • No transcripts
  • No AI listening in
  • Stills are never saved

Cahoots is in private beta.

It's invite-only for now. Looking for remote teams of 2 to 50 who miss the office. The people, not the commute.

Questions.

What is Cahoots?

A virtual office for remote teams. Everyone shows up as a black-and-white still in a shared team room, and you can tap a teammate to start talking right away.

Does it replace Slack or Zoom?

No. Keep your chat in Slack and your meetings in Zoom. Cahoots is for the quick, unplanned stuff in between, the stuff that used to happen at the desk next to you.

Is anything recorded?

No. No recordings, no transcripts, no AI listening in. Stills are held for at most 90 seconds and never saved to disk.

Who can see my camera?

Only your team. Outside a call they see a softly blurred black-and-white still with your avatar over it, heavily blurred when you're Busy. Live video is only for the people in a call with you.

What if I don't want to be interrupted?

Go Busy, or turn on Always knock, and teammates knock before they can talk to you. Lock a call and anyone else has to knock to get in.

What do I need to use it?

A webcam and a browser, or the desktop app for Mac, Windows, or Linux.

Who is the beta for?

Remote teams of 2 to 50 who want a little of the office back. Join the waitlist and you'll get an invite as spots open up.
